The patch (gtk-enf-990511-0) that I just put in the incoming directory
alters the text and entry widgets to make the insertion point blink, as
seen in other window systems and requested in the TODO file.  It also
fixes a small bug in the entry widget that would sometimes make the
character following the insertion point visible even when visibility
was turned off.
